Japanese Butterbur Oboe

This is a demonstration of a Japanese butterbur used to create an oboe. While the butterbur is not widely known in the US, it's a fast-growing herbaceous perennial with 3-4 foot wide, two-lobed rounded leaves and a long stem. The Oboe was created by drilling a hole through the stem and then small holes into the stem:
